An Interview with Anne-Marie Meyer, author of Lucky Charm
About the book:
- How did you come up with the story of Lucky Charm?
It was inspired by Travis & Taylor. I had the basic foundation of a football player and singer, then I had to come up with a backstory and it just kind of flowed from there. - What was the writing process for this book?
I created the cover and title first. Everything was based around that. I do a lot of looking up reader trope expectations and go from there. I really need to figure out what is keeping them apart and why they wanted to be together. - Which scene was your favorite to write?
The one where he tells the guy that he has the wrong apartment, over the doorbell camera. - Where can readers purchase your book?
It’s best to purchase directly from me at authoranne-mariemeyer.com, you get access to special editions and SWAG that you won’t get anywhere else. - What are some upcoming projects you are working on and can tell us about?
My book Christmasland is being made into a movie! I also have a new Christmas release coming out this year and book #5 of my Sweet Tea and a Southern Gentleman Series, Harmony Island Gazette, comes out at the end of this month.
About you:
- If you can travel to any place in the world, where would you go?
I would go to Switzerland, it’s been a dream since I was a kid and did a report on it. It looks beautiful. - Lucky Charm is loosely based off of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. If you are a Swiftie, can you rank her album from favorite to least favorite?
I enjoy Taylor Swift, but I am the worst person when it comes to music and albums. But I do enjoy some of her older songs. - What were some of your favorite reads in April 2024?
I don’t think I read any in April. I was busy writing a book and releasing Lucky Charm. - If you could eat one food item for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably pizza.
