Review: This was a well-written story about a woman who is in an arranged marriage after her brother was murdered and now she must get help from her fiancee to figure it out. I have read some of Alta’s books in the past and enjoyed this but I liked this book more compared to their other series. This story takes place in the same world where the Goodwin’s are but you don’t have to read the previous series in order to understand. This book is fast-paced with a mystery/thriller theme to it and is a bit dark. I liked the various conflicts throughout the book to keep it entertaining. This book is told from 4 different povs.

Fiora is the FMC of this story who has stayed hidden until her brother’s death. I liked her character and seeing her being very outgoing. She had a great development throughout the book. Braken is the MMC of the book who’s obsessed with Fiora but is also in a relationship with Merrick and Soren. He had a bit of development in the book but I loved seeing his love grow. Merrick and Soren are the other povs and I wish we got to know more about them. They were just there and it was confusing why they get a pov because we still don’t know much about them. The romance is why choose, enemies to lovers, and arranged marriage which was well done and has a lot of spicy scenes.

The ending was well written and overall I enjoyed this book. I do wish we got more scenes with all 4 of them together but it felt more of a side thing than anything but I still enjoyed the romance aspect of the book. This was a great book and I recommend checking it out.
